Detailed 10-Day Rwanda Gorillas Tour & Kilimanjaro Trekking Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from Kigali Airport
Your tour guide driver will be waiting for your arrival at Kigali international airport for pick up and drive you to Volcanoes National Park via Kigali city.
Depending on your time of arrival in the country, you could squeeze in a tour of the city of Kigali.
This safari can also start with a pick up from your hotel in Kigali, a city tour and transfer to Volcanoes National Park.
Day 2: Volcanoes National Park – Gorilla trekking & Community Visit
Early morning rise and then prepare for mountain gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park starting with a briefing at the park’s head offices.
The activity takes about 3-7 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they nested the previous night.
Enjoy the trek with every step being aware of your surrounding for scenic views and beautiful bird sightings.
After the trek, have lunch, relax and later go for a community visit to the Gorilla Guardians village.
Day 3: Flight to Kilimanjaro, Tanzania
Drive back to Kigali and procced to the airport for your flight to Kilimanjaro international airport in Tanzania where your Tanzania tour driver will pick you up and take you to your hotel in Moshi town.
Take time to do some shopping for drinking water, snacks, and any other stuff you could need during the Kilimanjaro hike like extra batteries for your camera.
Day 4-10: Mount Kilimanjaro Hiking
Different routes are available on Mt. Kilimanjaro that take one to the summit at Uhuru peak, the highest point on the mountain standing at 5,895 meters above sea level.
Climbing mountain Kilimanjaro can be quite challenging but also an interesting and doable adventure by anyone who is mentally and physically prepared to take on highest mountain on the African continent.
The route you choose for your hike also contributes to your success on reaching the summit, so choose wisely, putting your abilities and fitness levels into consideration.
For these 6-7 days, we recommend the Rongai route, Machame route, Umbwe route and Marangu route. You will be given a climb support crew to help you all through during the hike to the top, including the head guide, guides, cooks and porters.
You do not have to worry about cooking, setting up camp, putting it down and carrying heavy luggage as you climb up the mighty Kilimanjaro.
All you need is your day back-bag and up the mountain you go, enjoying the scenic views at each elevation and the different vegetation zones.
By day-10, you will be back at the base of the mountain meeting your tour driver at Mweka gate to drive you to your hotel in Moshi for a long warm shower, celebrations for your accomplishment and later in the day drive you to the airport for your flight.
