Rwanda Visa and Vaccinations – Rwanda Visa – Visitors who plan to visit Rwanda are required by the Government of Rwanda to follow the rules and regulations.
To enter Rwanda, there are those citizens of different countries that may require a visa and those that don’t need it.
If you’re required to enter Rwanda by a visa, then it is advisable to apply for it 6 weeks before your arrival in Rwanda at the Rwandan Diplomatic consulates in your country or online.

Requirements for Visa Application
- Passport or any valid travel document that is 6 months past your trip arrival date.
- Completed visa application form
- Two passport-sized photos taken against a white background
- A letter stating reasons for your visit
- Booking confirmation of where you will stay
- Visa application fees proof
- If you’re invited, attach ID or passport of the person who has invited you.
Countries that do not need a Rwanda Visa to enter Rwanda
Singapore, Mauritius, Hong Kong, Philippines, Democratic Republic of Congo, South Africa, East African Community countries of Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya.
These only need a visitor’s pass issued on arrival and no fees are charged.

General Information
- Visa processing requests can take 3 to 5 business working days.
- Visa fees must be transferred directly to the High Commission consular account before visa application is made.
- Cash payments, cheques, and postal orders are not valid at the High Commission of Rwanda.
- If applying online, make sure you pay with your credit card.
- In case your application is denied or you withdraw it, visa fees are not refunded.
- If you wish to extend your visa, then you’re required to make an application, but note that only specific classes of visas are eligible.
- Those wishing to change the visa class can apply, but only certain classes are eligible and the current class should be valid.
- If your visa expires, then you’re required to leave the country or else you can be deported and pay a fine as well.

- Group tourist visa (4 to 10 members) at USD 150
Rwanda Vaccinations

The Rwanda Ministry of Health has emphasized that visitors coming from countries where yellow fever is prevalent must provide a vaccination certificate.
The vaccination must have taken place 10 days before coming to Rwanda. Countries that are required to show proof of vaccination include Angola, Argentina, Benin, Bolivia, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Colombia, Congo, Cote d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, French Guinea, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea Bissau, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Sudan, Togo, Trinidad, Uganda, and Venezuela.
Conclusively, all visitors can enter Rwanda freely if they have their specific visas and are vaccinated.
