Detailed 6-Day Rwanda Gorillas Tour & Serengeti Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha – Serengeti National Park
Most of the safaris in Tanzania start from Arusha town with a pick up from your hotel. Drive further North of Tanzania arriving at your lodge in Serengeti in time for a hot lunch.
After lunch in the late afternoon, drive out into the park for a game drive.
Day 2: Game Drives
A full day of exploring the vast plains of Serengeti national park on game drives at different times of the day to maximize your wildlife sightings.
You will start with a pre-sunrise game drive for a chance to see some of Serengeti’s nocturnal animals and to catch the predators on a morning hunt.
Return to the lodge for breakfast, pack food for a picnic lunch and then head out to explore the park driving to different areas.
Get a chance to witness the migration if your visit to the park coincides with the active period of the wildebeest season.
Encounter different antelope species like wildebeests, gazelles, waterbucks, hartebeests, topis, kudus, elands, klipspringers, bush bucks, giraffes, zebras, lions, leopards, buffalos, elephants, hyenas, jackals, the rare wild dogs, rhinos, cheetahs among others.
Day 3: Flight to Rwanda
Exit Serengeti national park in the morning and be dropped at the airport to take your flight to Rwanda, your next tourism destination country on this 6-day safari.
You will be received by your Rwanda safari guide who will pick you from Kigali airport and driver you to your hotel for the night in Kigali city.
Day 4: Kigali City Tour – Volcanoes National Park
In the morning before you go to the North of Rwanda, take on a city tour of Kigali and visit some of the places of interest and importance within the city; Kigali genocide memorial center, the museum, craft centers and Inema art center.
Drive to Volcanoes national park after lunch, check in at your accommodation, sit back and enjoy the evening.
Day 5: Gorilla Trekking and Cultural visit
Wake up early in the morning and go to the park offices for a briefing and after go on your gorilla trekking experience in Volcanoes national park.
Meet the mountain gorillas and spend an hour with them. Later in the day, you will get a chance to immerse yourself in the customs and traditions of the Rwandans on a cultural visit to Gorilla Guardians village.
Day 6: End of Tour
A drop off at Kigali international airport will mark the end of your 6-day safari in Tanzania and Rwanda.
