Detailed 6-Day Rwanda Gorillas Tour & Masai Mara Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Kigali City tour – Volcanoes National Park
Your Rwanda safari guide will pick you from your hotel in the morning and take you on a Kigali city tour where you will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center and other places of interest, have lunch and after take a 2–3-hour drive to Volcanoes National Park.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Cultural visit
Today you get to track the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat on a trek that will take you about 2-6 hours or more depending on the movements and locations of the apes.
Spend an hour with the gorillas before you trek back to the trail head.
After lunch at your safari lodge, go on a guided cultural visit to the Gorilla Guardians village.
Day 3: Flight to Nairobi, Kenya
Depart Volcanoes national park for Kigali international airport to catch your flight to Kenya.
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta international airport, your Kenya safari guide will pick you up and drive you to your hotel for the night in Nairobi city.
Day 4: Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve
From your hotel in Nairobi, you will set off to the South of Kenya to explore the famous Masai Mara National Reserve.
Arrive in time for lunch and after embark on a late afternoon game drive where you will encounter lots of wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, gazelles, lions, leopards, hyenas, elephants, buffalos, jackals, monkeys and more.
Spend the night at the safari lodge in Masai Mara National Reserve.
Day 5: Game drive
Explore the savanna plains of Masai Mara national park on a full day of wildlife game viewing drives.
Visiting the park during the great migration period (July-September) drive towards the Mara River for a chance to witness the Mara River crossings, the action peak of the migration.
During the migration period, the plains of Masai Mara are covered in millions of wildebeests, thousands of zebras, gazelles, other antelopes and the resident wildlife.
Expect good sightings of the Masai Mara predators.
Day 6: End of safari
After breakfast, you could go on a cultural visit to one of the Masai communities and then proceed to Nairobi for a drop off at the airport.
